I’m back again with my good friends Ted and Catherine at their beautiful space and community music store. This is in the heart of the Driftless region in Wisconsin and art community of Viroqua.
I’ll be sitting in as a guest with my good friend Phil Heywood. Phil and I have toured and played many dates over the years and I’m really looking forward to listening and playing with him on this surprise visit to the twin cites the Dubliner Pub
Well obviously this is a special concert for me. I met Pat way back in 1983 and I’m still learning new ways to look at the guitar. Truly an inspirational player to me and I am really looking forward to listening and playing with him! midway saloon
This will be my third time being part of the staff at Steve Kaufman’s Old Time and Traditional Music Camp! Steve Kaufman’s Camp is considered one of the best communities of teachers and students for old time and traditional music in the world. I can’t say enough good things about my past experiences teaching and playing with the artists and participants, and the beautiful setting of Maryville College. This year will be noteworthy because I’ll be teaching alongside guitarist and teacher extraordinaire Rolly Brown, who was one of my first teachers as a kid and who has been a mentor and friend all these years. This is an all-inclusive musical experience: classes, housing, meals, concerts, jams and life long friendships.

My first show of 2023 will be an online concert with my good friend and renowned Chicago blues guitarist Eric Noden. Eric has established a successful online concert series that’s been running for the last few years, and has hosted many fine players. The series has attracted an international audience. Phil Heywood is really a unique and special guitarist. I’ve known Phil for a long time and played many shows with him. I’m always left feeling in a higher place from where I started. This is my first time at the Schorndorfer Guitar Festival, The festival is dedicated to bringing a community of teachers and students together presenting styles of all types — jazz, blues, rock, song writing and fingerstyle guitar. I’ll be back to where it all started for me some 33 years ago…My performance is a long time coming after two covid cancelations and general world upheaval. I will be presenting music from a new CD…..also possibly from a new one in the works!!!?? The Two Way Street is truly the epidemy of what a coffee house used to be. I’ve got the great opportunity to play an online concert series with my good friend and great guitarist Eric Noden. Eric has put together an online concert series called The 34th St Lounge that’s been presenting some great musicians. The shows at the 34th St Lounge are well put together and thanks to Eric’s technical savviness and attention to detail , gives us musicians a chance to perform and be part of a special community of listeners in these challenging times..
The concert will be Thursday Jan 28. Curtains open at 8:00 P.M. Eric and I will be performing original instrumentals and a few favorite pop tunes from the 1800’s as well as giving a little history of what inspired us along the way.
I’ll be debuting my Ryan EL-10 ten string guitar!!
